The Cross & Crescent is produced by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. Here’s a list of those involved in the monthly creation of the magazine and other areas of communication.
Publisher
Bill Farkas (Butler 1988)
Bill Farkas is the executive vice president of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. Prior to returning to staff in June 2005, he held solid leadership positions at Butler, Embry-Riddle, and Western Washington.
Editor
Tad Lichtenauer (Denison 1987)
Tad Lichtenauer joined the editorial staff as an assistant editor in June 2006, before becoming the editor in March 2008. Since earning his master’s degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, he has spent the past 20 years working in various senior-level PR and marketing communications capacities.
Assistant Editor
Chris Barrick (Butler 2004)
In 2005, Chris Barrick became the associate director of communications and assistant editor of the magazine. With a bachelor’s degree in media arts from Butler University, he also has worked in the production department of a local TV station, and has managed a wide variety of freelance video and multimedia work.
Illustrators
Jeff Reisdorfer (Wisconsin-Whitewater 2000)
Jeff Reisdorfer is a seasoned graphic / web designer. He works for the University of Minnesota developing International websites with emphasis on Agricultural software and Risk Management. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He also maintains the Wiscosin-Whitewater Alumni Association website with Fuzz Martin.
Andrew J. Ackfeld (Texas-San Antonio 1998)
A native of Amarillo, Texas, Andrew Ackfeld is an initiate of the Texas A&M Kingsville chapter. He transferred to Texas-San Antonio where he affiliated he served as ritualist, vice-president-external, and recruitment chair. Ackfeld also served as an Interfraternity Council executive board member. He is the owner of ADG Marketing, Inc., a company specializing in marketing and public relations for small to mid-sized businesses and non-profit agencies. He serves as chapter adviser of at Incarnate Word.

Fuzz Martin (Wisconsin-Whitewater 2001)
Fuzz Martin is the program director and morning show host at 92.5 WBWI in West Bend/Milwaukee, WI. Martin is the host of the Cross & Crescent Podcasts and he maintains the Wisconsin-Whitewater Alumni Association website with Jeff Reisdorfer.
Photographer
Walt Moser (Central Missouri State 1966)
Walt Moser is a chapter adviser, a former chapter consultant, and a former Board of Directors member. His goal is to photograph our members at their best as they are actively engaged in our Fraternity experience. He is in retail home furnishings and appliances business.
Assignment Editor
Jon Williamson (Maryland-College Park 1965)
Jon Williamson is the former executive vice president of the North American Interfraternity Conference, a trade association with 64 inter/national social college fraternities. He has been a contributing editor to the Cross & Crescent since 1970.
Historian
Mike Raymond (Miami-OH 1967)
Mike Raymond is an avid collector of fraternity and sorority memorabilia. This interest has led to the creation of one of the largest collections of memorabilia in private hands. He also has co-edited and written two editions of the Miami University-Oxford chapter’s history and has written articles for the Cross & Crescent magazine. In addition, he is an Order of Merit recipient.
Contributing Editors
Jono Hren (Florida Tech 1975)
Jono Hren has remained involved with chapter at the Florida Institute of Technology, most recently serving as president of the Alumni Association. Aside from the Fraternity, his interests include song writing and amateur astronomy. He now lives in Amagansett, New York, less than a mile from where he was born.
George Spasyk (Michigan 1949)
Spurning a career in chemistry after serving for two years during World War II working on the Manhattan Project as an analytical chemist at Princeton University (in work essential to the production of the atomic bomb), George Spasyk instead chose a 40-year career with Lambda Chi Alpha — from 1950 to 1968 in charge of chapter services, and from 1968 to 1990 as the Fraternity’s third executive vice president.
