Frankie Laine (Miami-FL HON)Frankie Laine, an honorary member of Lambda Chi Alpha and one of the most popular entertainers of the 1940s and 1950s, died February 6, 2007. He is perhaps best remembered by younger generations for his recordings of the theme to the hit TV Western “Rawhide” and the theme to Mel Brooks’ 1974 big-screen Western spoof “Blazing Saddles.”
